Welcome! We’re a University of Ottawa research lab at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. We’re working on making imaging agents to study and diagnose diseases by understanding their molecular mechanisms.

December 13 - Ben presents our research at CMIE-CNIC's Symposium on Medical Isotopes.

December 10 - Congratulations to Ariel Buchler on defending his PhD thesis!! The second PhD from our group is off in January to start a postdoctoral fellowship at BC Cancer Agency, funded by Michael Smith Health Research BC!

November 22 - Megan, Emily, and Abhishek attend the Ottawa Neuroimaging Scientific Retreat and Megan wins the Trainee Oral Session Award! Her team also wins Brain-Heart Interconnectome funding in the Innovation Pitch Competition! Congrats, Megan!!

September 1 - Goodbye to Christina and welcome back Abhishek, who is beginning his MSc! We also welcome back Hunter and Ezana, our honours students for 2024-25!

June 13 - Ariel helped out the Ardolino lab with 18F-FDG imaging to study the effects of PD-L1 on tumor metabolism. Read about it in Journal of Experimental Medicine.

June 3-5 - Ariel, Hala, & Ben present at the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) conference in Winnipeg. It's so great reconnecting with peers across Canada. Join us next year in Ottawa!

May 27 - With Dr. Terrence Ruddy, we're grateful for support from the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem. This funding will assist in translational studies of an imaging agent for high-risk atherosclerosis.

May 14 - We celebrate Ottawa Cardiovascular Research Day at UOHI!

May 6 - We welcome Christina, Emily, Hala, and Noor, who are joining the lab this summer. Megan officially starts her MSc!

April 11 - We're thrilled with NSERC's continued support for our radiochemistry research through their Discovery Grants program!

April 8 - Congratulations to Christina on NSERC USRA!

March 28 - Another hit with the Lundgren Lab! Check out our Nature Protocols paper on labeling amino acids with 11C, 13C, or 14C-CO2. 

March 12 - Marius's lactam labeling from 11CO2 is online in Chemistry - A European Journal. We were thrilled to contribute to this with the team in Vienna!
