Welcome! We’re a University of Ottawa research lab at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. We’re working on making imaging agents to study and diagnose diseases by understanding their molecular mechanisms.
December 13 - Ben presents our research at CMIE-CNIC's Symposium on Medical Isotopes.
December 10 - Congratulations to Ariel Buchler on defending his PhD thesis!! The second PhD from our group is off in January to start a postdoctoral fellowship at BC Cancer Agency, funded by Michael Smith Health Research BC!
November 22 - Megan, Emily, and Abhishek attend the Ottawa Neuroimaging Scientific Retreat and Megan wins the Trainee Oral Session Award! Her team also wins Brain-Heart Interconnectome funding in the Innovation Pitch Competition! Congrats, Megan!!
September 1 - Goodbye to Christina and welcome back Abhishek, who is beginning his MSc! We also welcome back Hunter and Ezana, our honours students for 2024-25!
June 13 - Ariel helped out the Ardolino lab with 18F-FDG imaging to study the effects of PD-L1 on tumor metabolism. Read about it in Journal of Experimental Medicine.
June 3-5 - Ariel, Hala, & Ben present at the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) conference in Winnipeg. It's so great reconnecting with peers across Canada. Join us next year in Ottawa!
May 27 - With Dr. Terrence Ruddy, we're grateful for support from the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem. This funding will assist in translational studies of an imaging agent for high-risk atherosclerosis.
May 14 - We celebrate Ottawa Cardiovascular Research Day at UOHI!
May 6 - We welcome Christina, Emily, Hala, and Noor, who are joining the lab this summer. Megan officially starts her MSc!
April 11 - We're thrilled with NSERC's continued support for our radiochemistry research through their Discovery Grants program!
April 8 - Congratulations to Christina on NSERC USRA!
March 28 - Another hit with the Lundgren Lab! Check out our Nature Protocols paper on labeling amino acids with 11C, 13C, or 14C-CO2.
March 12 - Marius's lactam labeling from 11CO2 is online in Chemistry - A European Journal. We were thrilled to contribute to this with the team in Vienna!
